Life Lately...

Life Lately...

Life is funny. On one hand, I’d say that 2018 has been a whirlwind so far thanks to fun festivities with friends and the non-stop chaos from our crazy and cuddly Kona. But, when it comes to the 9 to 5, which consumes most of my life, 2018 has been anything but a whirlwind. It’s like a constant state of sitting, waiting, and wishing...for the freakin weekend. (Deliberate Dave Matthews reference there). Because you know, if it weren’t for the weekends, I don’t know if I’d call what I’ve been doing “living.”

I shouldn’t complain because I’m lucky I have a job...but I also know that so many of you feel me on the lackluster 5 days a week necessary evilness that’s gainful employment.

END RANT.

Truth - it’s the weekends that have kept me inspired, active, and sane. Especially February. Because my birthday month never disappoints. And I don’t know if it was a reward for suffering through a job/career/whatever the hell it is….but this February really just rocked my freaking socks off. Yes, I’m cheesy and also, I don’t care.

The month of all things Les started with a quick but oh-so fun Palm Springs getaway weekend with Chris where we literally did nothing all day but soak up the 85 degree sunshine and enjoy mojitos by the pool with nights that included more cocktails and delicious dinners al fresco.

The weekend after that was probably the best of all because my brother and sister-in-law visited us for the first time in over 3 years. So we ate (and drank) our way through LA with notable mentions going to Wurstküche in Downtown LA (those Belgium fries, though), Monkish Brewing in Torrance (Holy amazing IPAs), and of course, Felix in Venice (which absolutely lived up to its numerous awards).

And as if those two weekends weren’t enough, the final celebration was an all day wine drinking event with my friends at Rosenthal Wine Tasting Patio in Malibu. God I love that place. Second year in a row my girlfriend and I chose it for our birthday party and zero regrets either time (okay, minus that 7th glass of wine maybe).

Yeah, I’d say February's weekends have balanced out the not so exciting weekdays quite nicely.

And now for that weird transitional month between seasons that will likely feel more like winter than spring. And on that note, after daunting this outfit, I’ve decided I hate berets. I tried wearing the thing pulled down on my forehead and that didn’t seem right so I wore it on the back of my head and well, I didn’t so much love that either. But literally everyone else in the world looks good in them - so you probably will too. I do love the below the boob overalls though (that’s what I’m calling them). I figured someone who was ahem, well endowed wouldn’t pull the situation off butttt...I don’t hate it. And these (or is it singular as in “this”?) is currently on sale! Anyways, outfit details are below.
